Sunday's meeting was  very exciting  for our youth ministry because it was our first Youth Council meeting. There were 11 of us around the table at Alabare House, with apologies from others who still want to be involved.

Rob briefly explained the vision then we needed to get down to the nitty gritty of discussing what was happening and what was wanted/needed by our youth rather than what was thought we wanted/needed.

Topics covered, discussed and proposed as projects within our deanery were:

• Youth SVP at parish level
• Monthly Youth Masses
• French Retreat 
• Fundraising
• Fanning the Flame Retreat day
• CaFE/Plugged in sessions for Year 6 primary school.
• World Youth Day
• Youth Groups and monthly events
• Making the parishes aware of our activities
• Promoting Soul Survivor and other events for the older teen/young person
• Fundays with sport incorporated for the younger spectrum of youth ministry
• and Living Faith events

More good news is that the council want to continue to meet monthly for the time being to see projects through and will keep the title 'Youth Council' because that's what it is.

FANTASTIC! Now to find someone who'll do all that! Pizza is great at the right meeting but it doesn't get eaten after a heavy Sunday lunch or when trying to talk around a meeting table. Nibbles and cake next time.
