The Youth SVP is a group for young people aged 14-18 who meet once a week. Members of the Youth SVP offer one-to-one help and support to people in need in the local community. It was founded in 1833 in Paris by a 19 year old student called Frederic Ozanam and his university friends.
Youth SVP is the largest youth organisation in the Catholic Church of England & Wales. Since 1999, over 10,000 young people have put their faith in to action by becoming a member of Youth SVP.
In Salisbury, Youth SVP members visit elderly and housebound parishioners and go to Emmaus House on a regular basis. Other recent activites have included helping with fun days at the John McNeil Centre and serving meals at the lunch for elderly parishioners.
